We are pleased to announce to you that the 2013 version of our Youth Empowerment Program is fast approaching. The event has been scheduled for July 23rd and 24th 2013 at the National Merit Awards, Maitama and The Global Distance Learning Institute, Ralph Sodeinde Street, opposite Ministry of Finance. Last year we focused on lecturing the attendees on how they can prepare themselves for job interviews, how they can build a profitable resume and how they can get a job in a tight job market. Some of the attendees of the YEP I got employed by some our corporate members, we also sent several job opportunities to these set of people. Last year registered a great success and we are glad we reached out to the lives of so many.

This year we have decided to focus more on Entrepreneurship, we are aware that the public and private sector cannot employ all graduates every year owing to the fact that we have more graduates than available jobs. To this effect we have decided to train and mentor 1000 youths on how they can start up their own business. It is our intention to have more self employed people while also helping them become employers of labour.

The event would be a 2 day event; the first day of the event would focus on accessing finance and how to write a good business plan. We would have breakout sessions on the second day where the attendees would choose which area of Entrepreneurship they would like to specialize on, the categories include fish farming, snail rearing, makeup artistry, entertainment, fashion design and sewing, bee harvesting, photography, pottery, Information Communications Technology, event management, export business etc.

There would be prices of scholarships and give-away on the second day of the event. Please stay updated on our website to get information on how to register for our next Youth Empowerment Program.
